PlayJam is the world’s leading interactive TV channel. Since 2000, we’ve been broadcasting the best iTV games to over 30 million homes across Europe, South Africa, Malaysia and North America creating over 300 games and giving out thousands of prizes along the way.
PlayJam started life as a side project of the visual media company Static 2358. In the early days of interactive TV, Static set-up a small team of artists, game designers and programmers to produce games that would work on satellite set-top boxes (STBs). The first PlayJam games channel was broadcast in autumn 2000 on Canal Sat in France and a second channel followed shortly after on BSkyB in the UK.
In a short space of time it became clear that PlayJam was a success, and Static focused their attention on creating games, and running a new kind of broadcast channel. New channels were launched around the world; in North America, South Africa, Asia and Europe - and we’ve been at the forefront of technological innovations since - broadcasting the first iTV multiplayer service in Europe and launching a series of Skill With Prizes (SWP) games in partnership with JPM International.
And now we're also online, bringing you the best online free games, social networking, as well as creating the first TV to online connected experience!
